Your company needs a whole legal team. Start with one lawyer.
I give FinTech, digital asset, AI, and SaaS companies the counsel of an experienced in-house lawyer, on a fixed monthly fee.
You have outgrown piecemeal outside counsel. A full-time general counsel can wait.
Enterprise contracts sit in review while the quarter closes. A regulator, an auditor, or an investor asks a question nobody on the team can answer. Your CEO spends evenings on legal work, and each call to an outside firm starts with an hour of background at their hourly rate.
You need someone who knows your product, owns the legal work, and has done it before at companies like yours. That is the job I take on.
What I handle
- Fractional GC & Head of Legal A senior lawyer inside your team who runs legal for you: board, financings, deals, vendors, and the systems behind them.
- Commercial & Contracts Enterprise SaaS, licensing, and services agreements drafted and negotiated so deals close on your terms.
- Privacy, Data Protection, and AI Regulation Privacy programs and AI compliance that survive an enterprise security review and match how your product works.
- FinTech, Digital Assets, and Blockchain Regulatory strategy for innovators in blockchain technologies, payments, lending, tokenized assets and funds, vaults, and prediction markets.
How we start
- 1
We talk
A 30-minute call about your company, your product, and what legal work is waiting on you. No charge.
- 2
I quote a fixed fee
You get a written scope and a fixed price: a monthly retainer for ongoing counsel or a project fee for a defined piece of work.
- 3
I join your team
I get access to your Slack and documents, learn the product, and start on the most urgent matter that week.
You know the cost before the work starts.
I work on monthly retainers and fixed project fees. You won't get an hourly bill at the end of the month.
- Monthly retainer
- For ongoing counsel. One fixed fee covers an agreed scope of work each month, and we resize it together if your needs change.
- Fixed project fee
- For defined work such as a privacy program, a contract template library, or a launch review. I quote it in writing before I begin.
- What sets the price
- The volume of work you send, how regulated your product is, and how fast you need answers. Filing and government fees pass through at cost.
Akiva Miller
Owner & Principal
I have spent twelve years as in-house counsel at New York tech companies: Kaltura and Sisense in SaaS, then Axoni, Ondo Finance, and ABFinance in blockchain and FinTech. I built legal functions, negotiated enterprise deals, ran privacy programs, and took regulated products to launch.
I started this firm so growth-stage companies could get that experience without a full-time hire. You work with me directly on every matter.
From people who have worked with me
“Our mandate was to take a retail finance app from a standing start to launch-ready in under two months. Akiva took product and commercial, I took regulatory… He delivered consistently, and he never let a legal question deter him, however new it was to him. He knew where to go for the answers he needed, spoke with confidence on what he knew, and produced first-rate work even in areas well outside his comfort zone.”
“As we established new partnerships across multiple jurisdictions, Akiva played a key role in managing the legal and commercial due diligence process for counterparties… He consistently brought a pragmatic, commercially minded approach, helping us move quickly while maintaining high standards around risk and compliance.”
“Akiva Miller is an exceptional legal partner with deep expertise in consumer compliance, including marketing and advertising requirements. He consistently goes beyond the traditional legal role, rolls up his sleeves, and works side by side with the business and Compliance to solve complex issues and get to practical, defensible outcomes.”
“Over the past year, he has supported me in forming my new company and advised me on everything from advisor agreements to privacy policies and other legal complexities common to early-stage tech startups. Akiva is smart, knowledgeable, reliable, professional, and exceptionally patient.”
“He is responsive, able to simplify complex topics, and is a true partner. He is great at pairing excellent legal analysis with a strong commercial mindset.”
“It has been my experience with some counsel, that they sometimes take an adversarial position during negotiations, and this was NEVER the case with Akiva. He has a great personal touch during contract negotiations, and was always trying to support the sales team in order to overcome obstacles and roadblocks.”
“Supporting a large group of enterprise account executives across multiple industries is often challenging, urgent, and requires an expansive knowledge of multiple legal environments and legal standards. Akiva excelled in not only understanding these many variables, but in clearly explaining the impact of each…”
“He was quick to schedule a call knowing a few spoken [words] could diffuse potential misunderstandings easier than 10 email exchanges… An insatiable work ethic and zen like patience for anything the day might bring.”
